Baptism Preparation

"You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are accepting the responsibility of training him/her in the you clearly understand what you are undertaking?"
Excerpt taken from the Ritual for Baptism.

Baptism is the first sacramental sign of the Good News that God's love is for all. Welcome to St. Justin's baptism preparation and congratulations on the birth of your child. Baptisms usually take place Sundays at 1:00 pm. Due to the large number of children presented for baptism we encourage you to register well in advance (2-3 months) prior to your preferred date. First time parents are required to attend the baptism preparation class and godparents are also welcome.

The objectives of a preparation class are:

  • To deepen our understanding of sacrament, grace and baptism.
  • To examine our own faith journey.
  • To become more aware of our responsibilities to educate our children in the faith and of what the Church expects of those who seek the sacrament for their children.
  • To explore ways of educating our children in the faith.
